CASA is a non-profit organization that trains and supports community volunteers who speak for the best interests of children who are in the court system because of child abuse or neglect.
A trained Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer is appointed to a case by a judge when a child is removed from his or her home and placed in foster care. CASA volunteers monitor a child's well being in foster care, advocate for the child within the court system, and help ensure that the child receives the services he or she needs.
The goal of Lone Star CASA is that every child in Kaufman and Rockwall Counties who needs a CASA has a CASA. Volunteers make lasting impressions on the lives of these children. If you would like to be a part of this group of community volunteers, you are invited to contact Lone Star CASA at 972-772-5858 or by email, director@lonestarcasa.org. To learn more about CASA, visit the Texas CASA website, www.texascasa.org .
